Many problems are best addressed by an individual or a small group. But most of society's serious problems are so complex that no single individual organization can effectively manage its solution. These broad-based problems require community cooperation in seeking solutions.
DVSAC brings individuals and groups together to systematically work toward the prevention or alleviation of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. By partnering, all agencies that work with victims can come together to improve services, improve response to victims, and identify gaps in the system.
DVSAC is comprised of several committees that facilitate our coordinated community response efforts. For additional information, contact our Program Liaison at 340-719-0144.
(Chairperson – Lynn Spencer)
This committee seeks to coordinate agency and individual efforts towards the reduction and eventual elimination of gun violence in the US Virgin Islands. It supports legislative action, creation of policies and procedures, correction of data on firearms offenses and community awareness and education.
(Chairperson - Robert Kunkel )
This committee serves as an umbrella group that works with and reviews a variety of legislative concerns and policy issues resulting from on-going discussion among members. They try to address the development and improvement of the civil and criminal justice system.
(Chairperson - Clema Lewis)
This committee is responsible for developing an annual media campaign to educate the community about the role of the DVSAC and the issues of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking.
(Chairperson - Sandra Benjamin )
This committee seeks to engage the faith community in addressing issues of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking and dating violence. Educational opportunities assist clergy in dissemination of pertinent information to their congregations.
